Caption: The Devil's coach-horse beetle (Ocypus olens) is a common and widespread European beetle, belonging to the Rove Beetles or Staphylinidae. It is a carnivorous nocturnal beetle, often seen in gardens where it hides under stones and leaf litter during the day, it comes out after dark foraging for prey, it is usually seen between April and October.
