Caption: Short-beaked echidna. Taxidermy specimen of a short-beaked echidna (Tachyglossus aculeatus). The echidna is found throughout Australia and the highland regions of southwestern New Guinea. It feeds predominantly on ants and termites and is one of the few mammals that lay eggs.
