Caption: Bone cancer cell. Fluorescence light micrograph of a section through a cell from an osteosarcoma, showing the DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid, blue), mitochondria (yellow) and actin filaments (purple). Osteosarcoma is a highly malignant (cancerous) tumour and is the most common form of primary bone cancer. It usually starts in a long bone and spreads rapidly. To prevent spread, removal of part of the affected bone or even amputation of the limb may be required.
