Caption: Boy with ancestral horse fossil. This 50-million-year-old fossil is of the skeleton of the horse ancestor Hyracotherium. This extinct animal lived during the Eocene epoch between 60 and 45 million years ago. The fossil is part of the collections at the Natural History Museum of Utah at the Rio Tinto Center on the University of Utah campus, Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. Photographed in 2014.
