Caption

Spotted eagle owls (Bubo africanus), being nocturnal hunters, rest during the day. The clip shows how the owl has chosen a perch which enables it to blend in with the Camelthorn tree. This use of camouflage will enable the bird to go undetected whilst daytime hunters are on the prowl. Filmed in the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park in Southern Africa.
