Ethane molecule. Animation of the structure of a molecule of ethane (C2.H6). Atoms (balls) are colour-coded: carbon (dark grey) and hydrogen (white). Ethane is an alkane. It is a colourless, odourless gas that is flammable if mixed with air. It occurs in natural gas and it is used in low-temperature freezers. Also available as an alpha channel animation and with a black background.
