Caption: Scythian gold ornament. 4th-century BC golden chest ornament (pectoral) found in a Scythian burial mound. This scene shows a man milking a sheep. This artefact was discovered in 1971 by archaeologist Borys Mozolevsky (1936-1993) in the Tovsta Mohyla Barrow, near Ordzhonikidze, Ukraine. The Scythians were a nomadic European people who inhabited a wide region of steppes extending from present-day Ukraine eastwards into Central Asia. Photographed in, Kiev, Ukraine.
