Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Sperm whale dissection. Student scientist dissecting a dead male sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus) found on Henne Strand, Jutland, Denmark. The specimen measured 14 meters in length and weighed an estimated 30 tonnes. The tissue samples were removed for study by veterinary scientists from Aarhus University. The skeleton will be cleaned and re-assembled for display at the Zoological Museum in Copenhagen.
