Synthetic aperture radar interferometry (InSAR) image centred over the island of Elba (lower centre), showing the Ligurian Sea (black, upper centre), Tyrrhenian Sea (black, lower centre), the coast of Italy (right) and the tip of the island of Corsica (lower left). InSAR is a technique where two or more satellite radar images acquired over the same area are combined to map surface topography and detect surface change. Image produced by combining two Sentinel-1A satellite images acquired on 7th and 19th August 2014.
