Whitetip reef sharks (Triaenodon obesus) over a reef. This shark inhabits the warm, shallow waters of the Indo-Pacific region and is often found resting in caves or under coral ledges during the day. It feeds on other fish, octopuses and crustaceans. The whitetip rarely attacks humans, but is potentially dangerous when threatened. Photographed on the Great Barrier reef, Coral Sea, Australia.
