Caption: The Tree of Tule. El A rbol del Tule, or the Tree of Tule, is a Montezuma cypress (Taxodium mucronatum) with a trunk which has the largest circumference of any tree trunk in the world. It is located in the town of Santa Maria del Tule, Oaxaca, Mexico. The tree is 35 metres high, approximately 1500 years old, and the circumference of the trunk is about 42 metres. It was considered sacred by indigenous people of the area.
