Caption: Cameras, 1970s and 19th century. At left is a Hasselblad 500 EL/M medium-format film SLR (single lens reflex) camera with motor drive. This was produced in the period 1971 to 1984. At right is a view camera with a bellows separating the lens and the viewfinder containing a photographic plate. This sort of camera was first developed as early as the 1840s and 1850s. Both these cameras pre-date modern digital cameras.
