Bladder radiotherapy. Radiotherapist operating the controls during a radiotherapy treatment session for bladder cancer. The patient is seen on the screens at top. Radiotherapy is the use of radiation to treat diseases such as cancer. The radiation is focused on the tumour site, and used to disrupt and ultimately kill the cancer cells. Bladder cancers are usually carcinomas that arise in the internal lining of the bladder. The prognosis is good if the tumour is diagnosed early.
