Caption: Scarlet ibis (Eudocimus ruber) flock in flight. These large waterbirds range from Central America and Northern South America and were introduced into Florida as part of a breeding program in 1962. Their name is derived from Greek meaning 'religious worship, sacred bird' and images of the them can be found in 4000 year old Egyptian wall paintings. Photographed over the Caroni Swamp, Trinidad.
