Caption: Giraffe tail. Close-up of the distinctive black-tipped tail of a giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis). The giraffe is the tallest living land animal. It can grow to a height of 5.5 metres and feeds mainly on the twigs and leaves of trees. The dark tuft of hair on the end of its tail is used to swat away insects. Photographed in Kruger National Park, South Africa.
