Caption: Stomach cancer. Computed tomography (CT) scan of an axial section through a patient's abdomen, showing an adenocarcinoma (dark, upper centre-right) in the stomach (centre-right). Adenocarcinomas are a type of colorectal cancer arising from glandular epithelial tissue and account for 90-95 per cent of all colorectal cancers. Certain dietary habits, such as a diet high in fat, appear to be significant risk factors.
