Caption: Control room of the '80-inch' (200 cm) liquid hydrogen bubble chamber at the Brookhaven National Laboratory on Long Island, New York. Commissioned in 1963, the 80-inch photographed the interactions of particles produced in the AGS (Alternating Gradient Synchrotron) accelerator. It made numerous discoveries in the 1960s, notably the discovery of the omega minus particle in 1964. Photo taken 1964
