Caption: Henry Fox Talbot (1800-1877), British photography pioneer, inventor and physicist. This daguerreotype from the early 1840s was created by French photographer Antoine Claudet (1797-1867). Claudet, Talbot and Louis Daguerre invented key early photographic processes. Daguerreotype photography was invented by the French painter Louis Daguerre in 1837 and was the first form of photography to be widely used.
