Caption: HD69830 is a yellow dwarf star in the constellation of Puppis, 41 light-years from Earth. Since 2005, the system has been known to harbour a massive asteroid belt, containing around 20 times the mass in our own asteroid belt. In 2006, three planets were found orbiting within this debris disc, at distances of 0.08, 0.19 and 0.63 AU (astronomical units). This illustration imagines the view from the surface of a moon orbiting one of the planets (blue-green, top). From this vantage point, the asteroid belt - illuminated by the system's star - creates a zodiacal light similar to that seen on Earth, but perhaps 1000 times brighter
