Caption: Magnesium, aluminum and zinc are more reactive than copper. Hence, when these metals were added to test tubes containing a 0.2M copper (II) sulfate solution, single-displacement reactions occurred. Copper metal and the respective metal's sulfate were formed as a result. Left frame: magnesium coil, Mg + CuSO4 -> Cu + MgSO4. Centre frame: aluminum coil, Al + CuSO4 -> Cu + Al2(SO4)3.
