Caption: Colour enhanced transmission electron micrograph of microtrabecular lattice. Filaments in a high voltage electron micrograph six nanometers or six millionths of a millimetre, thick. Lattice suspends a cell organelle, the lysosome (small dark body at the right). The lattice also supports a microruffle: an extension that reaches up like a mitten from the cell surface (bottom). The small round bodies at a few intersections of the lattice are ribosomes. 100,000 diameters.
