Caption: Scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of staphylococcus saccharolyticus (0.6-1.0 micrometers in diameter). This is a strictly anaerobic gram-positive, coagulase-positive member of the bacterial genus Staphylococcus, it's non-motile, does not produce spores, and forms white to grey colonies. The optimum growth temperature is 37 C (it does not grow at 15 C), it is sensitive to novobiocin and lysostaphin, and found in human blood and on the skin. Image width: 9.85 micrometers.
