Blood glucose monitor. Digital monitor (glucometer, black), test strips (tub, left), control solution (bottle, right) and skin prick device (blue) used for measuring blood glucose levels. A small sample of blood is taken from a prick in the patient's finger and placed on a test strip. The strip is then placed inside the glucometer, which measures the amount of glucose in the blood sample. The control solution is used to calibrate the device.
