Caption: Legendary Spider Rock towers nearly nine hundred feet above the floor of Canyon de Chelly Arizona. Here it soars skyward above stands of Tamarisk, an invasive species of plant from the Middle East and a serious pest . Removal efforts were underway in 2008 when this photo was taken.
