Caption: VFTS 352 double star system, animation. VFTS 352 is among the hottest and most massive double star systems discovered. The two components of the star system are in contact and sharing material. They are located about 160,000 light years from Earth in the Large Magellanic Cloud in the constellation of Dorado. It is thought that the stars may in the future merge to create a single monster star, or that a binary black hole may form. Animation published in 2015.
