Caption: Large fine Folio Aquatint Etching by Samuel Howitt Published Edward Orme, London after "Oriental Field Sports" 1807 by Captain Thomas Williamson. Original Hand Colour as issued. Note that the wolves here are visually confused with what was called the 'striped wolf' in India at the time, but which is now known as the striped hyena (Hyaena hyaena). Just how this trap is supposed to work is perplexing.
