Caption: Reconstructed Bronze Age dagger. Reconstruction of a Bronze Age dagger, showing the likely appearance of such weapons during the Middle Bronze Age. The blade is typical of Irish daggers with a heavy fullered blade which might pierce armour, and a broad pommel with which to apply extra piercing force with the other hand. The Middle Bronze Age in Ireland dates from 1500 BC to 1200 BC.
