Caption: Iguanodon dinosaur. Illustration of an early reconstruction of the dinosaur Iguanodon circa 1860 using the earlier 1830s reconstructions of Gideon Mantell as a source. Note the positioning of the thumb spike on the nose as a horn, a mistake that would not be corrected until the Iguanodon specimens in Bernissart, Belgium, were discovered in 1878.
