Caption: A copied later version of 'Skinning of the Aboma Snake', J. G. Stedman, Narrative (1796), the plate designed by Stedman and originally engraved by Blake. Shows slaves in Surinam skinning an anaconda while Steadman looks on. The snake grew from 18 to over 22 feet long according to Steaman. The anaconda (Eunectes murinus) is the largest snake in the world by weight and second largest by length and have been found over 16 feet long.
