Caption: Near East Bronze Age weapons. Weapons from the Bronze Age in the Near East around Iran. The weapons here reached levels of diversity, refinement and style that indicated marshal societies with a warrior caste. Most weapons here date from around 2000 BC to 1000 BC. At top, a tanged spear or possibly short sword. At bottom, a Luristan short sword with integral cast handle. At far left, a Luristan mace head. At centre left, a Middle Eastern sloping axe. At far right, a spiked Luristan axe. At centre right, a Canaanite duck-billed axe.
