Caption: A colour halftone print from 1910, H. Hasbach cover for Ludwig Wilser's book "Leben und Heimat des Urmenschen". A very early depiction of a human ancestor (urmenschen = root human) in a stooped position carrying very primitive tools. The influence of Kupka's 1909 reconstruction of the neanderthal "Man of Chapelle-Aux-saints is clear, though the face marginally less ape like.
