Physica Sacra (Sacred Physics) by Johann Scheuchzer (1672-1733) central nervous system, folio copper engraving drawn by a team of engravers under the direction of Johann Andreas Pfeffel (1674-1748). The goal of Scheuzner's work was to use the best contemporary science to illuminate the biblical account of human history in a sequence of 745 plates.The materials required for Noah's Ark measured out in cubit lengths. The cubit is an ancient unit based on the forearm length from the middle finger tip to the elbow bottom. Cubits of various lengths were employed in many parts of the world in antiquity, during the Middle Ages and as recently as Early Modern Times. .
