Caption: Great Orme copper mine. The Great Orme is a limestone headland located near Llandudno, on the coast of North Wales, north of the Conwy estuary. The Great Orme copper mine dates back to prehistoric times. It was estimated to have produced copper for around 2000 tons of bronze in the Bronze Age. Copper was also mined here in Roman times and in the 18th and 19th centuries. The mines became a tourist attraction in the 20th century.
