Selune estuary and countryside, France. Aerial photograph looking west over the towns of Avranches (centre left) and Ducey (below centre left) to the estuary of the Selune river, which empties into the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel. This bay lies in the north-western corner of the Basse-Normandie region in northern France. Also emptying into the estuary region are the rivers Couesnon and See. The bay takes its name from Le Mont Saint-Michel (upper centre), a small rocky island in the Couesnon part of the estuary lying about one kilometre from the northern coastline. Photographed on 19 February 2016.
