Caption: Paraneoplastic pemphigus. Close-up of paraneoplastic pemphigus (PNP) lesions on the shoulder and chest of a 60-year-old male patient with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, a form of blood cancer. PNP is an autoimmune disease resulting from an underlying tumour. It is thought that antigens associated with the tumour trigger an immune response that results in blistering of the skin near the tumour. Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is one of the two malignant tumours most commonly associated with PNP. Prognosis is poor.
