Caption: Animation of a beating heart, seen from the top after the top part (the atria) has been removed. This view shows the valves that open and close to regulate blood flow. At left is the mitral (bicuspid) valve that lets blood flow from the left atrium to the left ventricle. At right is the tricuspid valve, that controls right atrium to right ventricle flow. Between them are the pulmonary valve (centre), which lets blood be pumped from the right ventricle to the lungs, and at top is the aortic valve, controlling blood flow from the left ventricle to the aorta and the rest of the body. This clip is loopable. This clip has a transparent alpha channel. It is also available on a black background, see clip K005 3438.
