Caption: Surface of Venus. Radar image of the surface of Venus obtained by the unmanned Soviet spacecraft Venera 15 and Venera 16. This montage shows the western part of Ishtar Land in the northern hemisphere, and the adjoining plains of Sedna and Guinevere. Visible are the systems of ridges and valleys of the mountain ranges of Akna, Freya, Maxwell. The data for this image were gathered by Venera 15 and Venera 16 in orbit around Venus between October 1983 and July 1984.
