Caption: Colorado potato beetles (Leptinotarsa decemlineata) feeding on a leaf. This agricultural pest hatches as a larva from an egg laid on the underside of a leaf. When mature, the larva metamorphoses into an adult beetle. Colorado potato beetles are a serious insect pest of potatoes and other crops. Both adults and larvae feed on the plant's foliage and may completely destroy the crop.
