Caption: Normal and cancer cells. Light microscopy footage of cell growth for both normal (non-cancerous) cells and cancerous cells. The footage shows cell movements and differences in ruffling (changes in the cell membrane). The cancer cells are more elongated than the non-cancerous cells. Cancer cells divide rapidly and chaotically. They can clump to form malignant tumours, and invade and destroy surrounding tissues. For footage of just cancer cells or just non-cancerous cells, see clips K005/6538 and K005/6539.
