Caption: Uterine cancer. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of adenocarcinoma (cancer) of the uterus. The malignant (cancer) cells (green) are much larger than the normal uterine cells (red). Adenocarcinoma is a cancer that originates in glandular tissue such as skin, glands and a variety of other tissue that lines the cavities and organs of the body. The lower frame is a freeze-fractured section through the uterine tissue. Magnification x1200 when printed at 10 centimetres wide.
