Caption: Lunar eclipse. Historical diagram from Eclipsis Lunaris, published by Henrico Klausing (1675-1745) in 1719, showing the appearance of the moon as viewed from various latitudes around the world. The Earth is represented at top (large circle) with various different latitudes marked out (diagonal lines). Each latitude has a number by it which references one of the diagrams below. These lower diagrams show the appearance of the moon at each latitude. See image V700/0505 for the title page of Eclipsis Lunaris.
