Caption: ESA satellite station, Sweden. This base is part of ESTRACK, the worldwide satellite tracking network operated by the European Space Agency (ESA). It is remotely controlled and monitored from the European Space Operations Centre (ESOC) in Germany. Satellites supported from here include Earth Observation satellites in polar orbits. The satellites monitor global environmental parameters, map vegetation, track climate change, and aid disaster rescue management. Photographed in January 2016, near Jukkasjarvi, Sweden.
