Nitrogenase is used by certain organisms to ensure the electron transfer required for fixation of dinitrogen gas (N2) into ammonia (NH3). In this model the molecule's shape (secondary structure) is seen, comprising alpha helices (coils), beta sheets (arrows) and linking regions (lines).
