Caption: Vega orbiter. Model of the Vega probe's orbital module, which was used as part of the international Vega mission. This was launched in December 1984, to study Venus and the tail of Halley's Comet. Two unmanned Soviet spacecraft, Vega 1 and 2, carried two probes which were released into Venus's atmosphere, and a dust collector for analysing the comet.
