Caption: Airglow over La Silla Observatory. Full-dome fish-eye view of airglow filling the sky above the ESO 3.6-metre telescope at La Silla Observatory in northern Chile. Airglow is a phenomenon where a planetary atmosphere emits a faint glow, seen here as a reddish hue. Also seen is the band of the Milky Way and the glow of distant urban settlements on the horizon at lower right. Photographed in January 2015.
