Caption: The Sphere of Manilius title page, 1675. This is a 17th-century translation by Edward Sherburne of a work by the 1st century AD Roman poet and astrologer Marcus Manilius. This frontispiece artwork includes Latin and English text, together with allegorical figures. In this work, Sherburne included up-to-date astronomical information and diagrams alongside his translation of the text of the poem.
