Caption: Ivan Loveridge Bennett (1919-1990), US physician and medical researcher. Bennett worked at Yale, and then at the John Hopkins Hospital. From 1966 to 1969 he was acting director of the Office of Science and Technology, advising the US President. He then worked at the New York University Medical Center, serving in several key administrative roles. He also worked with the Armed Forces Epidemiologic Board, and advised the World Health Organisation on biological warfare. He died in Tokyo, Japan, while attending a meeting of the US-Japan Cooperative Medical Science Program.
