Caption: Iron(III) chloride reacts with sodium carbonate, 3 of 3. 0.25 M solution of iron(III) chloride (FeCl3) is added to 0.2 M solution of sodium carbonate (Na2CO3). Iron(III) hydroxide precipitate (Fe(OH)3) and carbon dioxide gas (CO2) are produced as a result: FeCl3 + Na2CO3 + H2O -> Fe(OH)3 + NaCl + CO2.
