Caption: Herderite is a phosphate of beryllium and calcium that occurs typically in very coarse grained rocks called granite pegmatites. Crystals can be large, especially the ones from Brazil, the source of most of the faceted herderites that have been produced. These stones range from about 3 to 9 carats.
