Caption: Seal rehabilitation centre worker adding drugs to fish by inserting them in the gills. Adding the drugs to the seals' food in this way ensures the seals get the drugs they need to treat them for diseases. This work is being carried out at the Seal Rehabilitation and Research Centre (SRRC), in Pieterburen, the Netherlands. Sick, injured and orphaned seals are treated and cared for here until they can be released back into the wild. The centre was founded in 1971, and treats around 200 seals a year.
